A former U.S. Air Force colonel from the Rome Air Force Research Laboratory has been ordered to pay $150,000 to his victim following a lawsuit regarding sexual abuse, according to published reports.

Col. Andrew W. Green, 52, of Jamesville, spent four months in jail after pleading guilty in October 2016 to raping a 15-year-old girl in Onondaga County between May 2015 and January 2016. Green was working as the Information Intelligence Systems and Analysis Division Chief at Rome Labs prior to his arrest, according to Air Force officials. He was reassigned during the investigation, and eventually retired from the Air Force.

In February 2017, authorities said the victim filed a lawsuit against Green. On Wednesday, state Supreme Court Justice Deborah Karalunas ruled in favor of the victim, ordering Green to pay $150,000 in damages and punishment, according to reports on Syracuse.com. In her decision, the justice noted how the victim had been made to feel at fault and suffered emotional trauma and damage.
