Foothills pantry announces February hours

HOLLAND PATENT — The Food Pantry of the Foothills Rural Community Ministry will be open on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 4-6 p.m.

It will also be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Feb. 6, 13, and 20, and Thursday, Feb. 25. Due to concerns over the pandemic, guests may not enter the building. Volunteers will pick out the food and bring it to the cars. Participants should come 15 minutes before closing time, so all may be served.

If it’s a first visit to the food pantry, proof of address must be presented for every family member over the age of 18. This may be a piece of mail that was delivered.

The food pantry rarely closes due to weather, but if there is severe winter weather, call the FRCM office at 315-865-5854 before starting to the pantry.

The Country Corner Thrift Shop is closed until further notice.

The Food Sense program is still open to anyone who wants to take advantage of the good prices for groceries. February orders must be in by Feb. 13, and will be ready to be picked up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 26 or at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27.

The February basic package that costs $20.50 includes a 1.7-pound pork tenderloin, 3 pounds of chicken thighs, 1-pound of ground beef, 1-pound of fish sticks, a 13-ounce kielbasa, 8-ounces of cheddar cheese, 13-ounce cheese pierogis, 1-pound white rice, 15-ounce applesauce, 14.1-ounce brownie brittle, and two produce items.
