HOLLAND PATENT — The Food Pantry of the Foothills Rural Community Ministry, 7835 Church St., will continue to serve the area in June.
The guidelines set by the Food Bank of Central New York will be followed to keep the people who use the services and the volunteers as safe as possible. This has meant that people wait in their cars while volunteers deliver the food to their vehicles. This may change as the Food Bank directs.
The Food Pantry will be open on Wednesday, June 3, from 4-6 p.m. It will be open on the first three Saturdays of June — 6, 13, and 20 — from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will also be open on the fourth Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To ensure that the pantry closes in a timely manner, volunteers ask people to come 15 minutes before closing time.
If one has never used the pantry before, but current circumstances are making finances difficult, it is simple to register to use the food pantry. Area residents should bring a proof of address for each of the family members that are over age 18. A volunteer will ask a few questions and fill out a form, and a slip authorizing the use of the pantry.
