CANASTA — International Folk Music Awards 2017 Artist of the Year Ordinary Elephant will be on stage at the Great Swamp Conservancy of Canastota for the Harmony in Nature Series, 7 p.m. May 10.

The Great Swamp Conservancy is at 8375 N. Main St.

Ordinary Elephant is the collaboration of husband and wife Pete and Crystal Damore, whose influences include Gillian Welch, Guy Clark and Anais Mitchell. Their newest album, “Honest,” was recorded in Nashville. “Keep kind all that rises from your chest to your tongue. Don’t ever let your words undo the work you’ve done,” sings Crystal Damore on “Worth the Weight,” a song that speaks to the GSC’s mission statement.

Tickets can be purchased at $10, $8 for members at the GSC office or on PayPal in advance, or at the door. Admission for children under 12 is half price. Doors open at 6:15. For more information, contact 315-697-2950 or greatswampconervacny@gmail.com.
