Floyd contractor accused of not doing paid work
FLOYD — A Floyd man is accused of stealing more than $3,000 for contracting work that he never fulfilled, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies said James Simpson, 40, was paid over $3,000 for contracting work in the Town of Floyd and then he never carried out the work. The authorities were contacted on Jan. 8, leading to an investigation.
Simpson is charged with one count of third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony, deputies said. He is scheduled to appear in court.
