First Source ready to help with all your banking needs

First Source Federal Credit Union, located at 1822 Black River Blvd in Rome, has serving the community for the past 83 years.

First Source has multiple locations across the Mohawk Valley like in North and South Utica, Herkimer and New Hartford along with the Rome location.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, First Source was proud to be able to stay in business.

“We were able to successfully and safely keep our organization running throughout the pandemic, allowing members access to their funds and retaining staff,” Director of Member Services Christopher Dovi said. “We were able to offer our business members payroll protection program loans, and our consumer members, a low rate emergency relief loan, as well as a give back to our community in need.”

Dovi said some highlights include feeding frontline workers, sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive, donating to Connected Community schools and local food banks.

“We implemented technology and system efficiencies to allow for greater remote services,” Dovi said.

Some goals that First Source has for 2021 is to continue adding remote financial services including online scheduling and text banking.

“We are also planning to enhance all First Source ATMs, migrating to Interactive Teller Machines,” Dovi said.

Dovi said that the bank doesn’t really have a most popular item, rather whatever their members need.

“Our savings and loan products are not based on popularity, but rather member need,” Dovi said. “Everyone’s financial needs and goals are different, and we have custom solutions from birth to retirement for whatever it is you need. Volume-wise we see a lot of auto loans, home equities and mortgages, however we cater to all financial needs.”

“First Source is proud to serve the Rome community,” Dovi said. “If you haven’t banked with us before, we’d love the opportunity to meet you and see how we can help you on your financial journey.”
