First Presbyterian resumes in-person services

The First Presbyterian Church of Rome, 108 W. Court St., has resumed in-person worship services.

Norine Sexton, clerk of the church governing board notes “We’ll also continue methods established during the pandemic to reach out to our congregation and community.”

Services are transmitted on 97.5 FM and reception is available from the church parking lots and neighboring streets. Services are also live-streamed via Facebook at www.facebook.com/RomeFirstPresbyterian or the First Presbyterian Church, Rome, NY, YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEvbam-i-kQNA2ktgPHC_Lg).

Upcoming Holy Week services will be held in the church sanctuary and a handicapped accessible ramp is available. Palm Sunday Worship will be held at 10 a.m. and will be led by guest preacher, Helen Tracy. Maundy (Holy) Thursday and Good Friday observances will be led by Michelle Dolan and begin each evening respectively at 7 p.m.

Larry Beasley, Stated Clerk of the Utica Presbytery, will lead worship on Easter morning at 10 a.m. The Joyful Ringers Handbell Choir, under the leadership of Music Director David Kolb, will offer pieces that morning as well.
