Film based on pursuit of justice for Emmett Till
ROME — Cinema Capitol, 230 W. Dominick St., will screen “Till” on Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 6 at 1 and 4 p.m.; and Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
“Till” is a 2022 American biographical drama film directed by Chinonye Chukwu, written by Michael Reilly, Keith Beauchamp, and Chukwu, and produced by Beauchamp, Reilly, and Whoopi Goldberg. “Till” is the true story of Mamie Till Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14-year-old son, Emmett Till, who in 1955 was lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi for whistling at a white woman. In Mamie’s poignant journey of grief turned to action, the audience will see the universal power of a mother’s ability to change the world.
