Felony amount of fentanyl seized in Oneida traffic stop
ONEIDA — A Lee Center man was found with a felony amount of fentanyl packaged for sale during a traffic stop in Oneida Wednesday night, according to the Oneida Police Department.
Police said Joshua Gillett, 23, of Lee Center, was pulled over for a traffic violation on North Main Street at about 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. Police said they spotted drug paraphernalia and a firearm inside the vehicle and Gillett was removed.
A total of 73 individual bags of fentanyl, a quantity of methamphetamine, an electric stun gun, packaging materials, a digital scale, a firearm and an amount of cash were seized from Gillett and the vehicle, authorities stated.
Gillett is charged with one count of second-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class A-2 felony, two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and one count each of second-degree use of drug paraphernalia and second and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, as well as several vehicle and traffic violations. He is scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court.
