Family Support Group helps with addiction issues

Rome Memorial Hospital will hold a family addiction support group on Monday, Aug. 19 form 6 to 7 p.m. in the hospital's second floor classroom. The group meets the third Monday of each month and is free and open to the public.

Offered by the hospital's Community Recovery Center, the Family Support Group provides an opportunity to meet with others in a similar situation, as well as education, monthly support, development of communication skills, resources/referrals, and an opportunity to address questions.

Certified by the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services, the Community Recovery Center, 264 W. Dominick St., offers quality, comprehensive alcohol and subtance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. The center is open Monday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. CRC participates with most major insurance programs, including Medicare and Medicaid. A sliding scale fee is available for self-pay clients.
