Falcon Clinic adds ultraviolet lights to further sanitize exam rooms

NEW HARTFORD — The Falcon Clinic for Health, Wellness, and Recovery has been following CDC guidelines for sanitation, social distances, disinfection protocols in the workplace, in order to continue to provide the best in medical care possible to area residents, and the clinic recently received and installed Ultraviolet Light C units in the examination/treatment rooms.

The UVC units will further increase the level of sanitation and peace of mind that physicians strive for in making patients safe as staff counsel and treat them for their various medical needs, office officials said.

Ultraviolet light (UVC) has been known for many years to be extremely effective in sanitizing the air, surfaces and workplaces against bacteria, viruses and fungus.

Studies have shown that Ultraviolet Light in the C wavelength around 250-265 nm kills 99.9 percent of all bacterial, viruses and fungi after only 15 minutes of exposure.

Wavelength of UV light around this peak is absorbed by the DNA and RNA of microorganisms such as the SARS and MERS corona viruses and bacteria, alters their DNA and RNA structure, rendering the microorganisms incapable of replicating.

The clinic’s treatment rooms are areas used for examination, injections of medications, counseling and various acupuncture and osteopathic manipulative treatments for people with all sorts of musculoskeletal problems such as neck and shoulder and low back and hip and knee problems.

The Falcon Clinic provides primary care, Family Medicine, treatment and counseling for opioid dependency, treatment of Hepatitis C, acupuncture and osteopathic manipulative treatment for all sorts of muscle and joint pains including sports injuries. Call 315-507-4751 for more information.
