Fair Trade Shop to offer wind chimes, bird houses

CLINTON — The Fair Trade Shop at Stone Presbyterian Church, 8 S. Park Row, will feature beaded lattice wind chimes from India during the month of May.

Artisans in India use recycled iron to create the frame of the architectural Beaded Lattice Wind Chime, accented with brass bells and colorful beads.

There will also be plenty of basket bird houses from the Philippines, made from sustainably harvested woods and fibers. Each is densely constructed and finished with rustic details. It has a hanging loop.

These and several more uniquely handcrafted gift items from 38 different countries can be found at the Fair Trade Shop. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday and second Saturdays.

Purchasing fair trade items ensures artisans and small farmers fair wages and healthy working conditions, providing dignity, sustainable development and hope to marginalized people. Visit the shop at https://buildingstonesshoppe.square.site or www.facebook.com/buildingstonesfairtradeshoppe.
