OLD FORGE — There are two new electric vehicle charging stations installed at the Old Forge Library and ready for use.

In keeping with the tradition of providing needed services for the public, the library’s board of trustees decided that this would be beneficial in serving the needs of the public and allow electric automobile owners the opportunity to come in and explore what the library has to offer, according to the library announcement.

The board’s vice president, and project manager for the charging stations, Dave Berkstresser said, “We can now offer the library as a destination for the entire family while they are charging their vehicles. With the transportation industry trending toward EV’s as a viable alternative due to all of the advanced technology, this seemed to be a perfect fit in keeping with the Old Forge Library’s mission of providing needed services.”

The charging stations are located in the rear of the library at the end of the parking lot on the right-hand side.

They are located with easy access 24 hours a day and seven days a week. In the case of a power outage, the library’s charging stations will also be available for use through the generator which powers the building.
