Emmanuele wins Ben Guiliano Men’s Singles Bocce Classic
ROME — The eighth annual Ben Guiliano Men’s Singles Bocce Classic was held at the Galliano Club over the weekend. Ed Emmanuele of Rome went undefeated to win the event.
There were 24 players in the event, with each having to throw all four balls per frame. Awards went to the top six players. The double elimination event honored Guiliano, who is the bocce treasurer, officer of the club and a long-time member.
Jerry Closinski was second, Mike Agosto was third, Paul Calicchia was fourth, Jimmy Guy was fifth and Joe Mellace was sixth.
Next up is the 19th annual Four Man Billy Antonucci Holiday Classic to be held at the Galliano Club on Dec. 16 and 17. A sign up sheet is at the Club.
