HERKIMER — Bassett’s Herkimer Health Care Center closed early today (Friday, Oct. 28) due to emergency activity in the area, according to Bassett officials.

Officials said the emergency traffic in the area due to a reported fire led to them closing the health center as a precaution. The closure included Herkimer Convenient Care.

The fire was not at the health care center, officials noted. They said they were concerned with the amount of smoke in the village.

The closure was temporary for Friday. They said all patients and scheduled appointments were notified in a timely manner.
