Eight of Rome’s finest to graduate academy


The eight newest members of the Rome Police Department are among 23 new law enforcement officers graduating from the Mohawk Valley Police Academy today.

The graduation ceremony will be held at the Stanley Theater in Utica at 5 p.m. today. The new officers have completed 25 weeks of both classroom and practical in-field training. Along with the Rome Police Department, new officers are graduating into the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Utica Police Department, as well as the police departments in Oswego, DeWitt and Manlius.

Rome graduates: Officer Antonio DeLuco, Officer Zachary Hadasz, Officer Matthew Heinrich, Officer Jenna Kiskiel, Officer John Lamarco, Officer Jarod Stank, Officer Zachery White and Officer Tyler Wilson.
