Education suffers when internet providers shut door on kids

I am writing you to let you know about a recent very unpleasant experience I had with Spectrum. As many families in Rome City School District know we went back to virtual learning.

I am behind on my payment for cable. Many people are with the Covid virus going around. I asked for a four-day extension so that I would not lose access to the internet for my kid’s education.

I tried to the operator, floor manager, and another manager above them. All the same answer: NO! I live in an area where I can only get Spectrum as the owners do not want a dish. I have no choice but to have them.

I know that there are many other Romans who are having hard times with Covid closures. Some  still cannot work, lost hours etc.. and their bills are piling up too.

Do I pay the bills or put food on the table for the kids? Always going to be for the kids now. I would like to know how can the children get their proper education if we are remote only, while monopoly businesses like Spectrum shut the door on the kids’ education?
