BOONVILLE — The 134th Boonville-Oneida County Fair is up and running. “Let the Good Times Grow.”

That’s the theme for this year’s fair, which was showcased by several floats in the annual parade held Tuesday evening.

Fairgoers today can enter for free with a canned good for “Feed Our Vets.”

The day includes several 4-H shows, as well as other events, and you can watch horse pulls in front of the grandstand during the day and evening.

Here are some highlights for the rest of the week:

Thursday will feature a truck pull in the morning and the Shootout Professional Pulling Series in the evening. Several animal shows will also be taking place.

Friday is another Children’s Day, as well as “Pink Out Day in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.”

The Out-of-Field and Antique Tractor Pulls will get underway at 9 a.m. in front of the grandstand, while animal shows will be taking place in the infield arena and show tent. The Upstate Mobile Mammography van will be on-site starting at 10 a.m. The NY Tractor Pullers Association show will take place in the evening.

The highlight on Saturday is the concert by country music star Tracy Byrd.

The gates open at 6 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. show. The local Nelson Bros. band will be opening for Byrd.

All are welcome to the country church service in the show tent at 9 a.m. Sunday.

And, let’s not forget the Midway. Coleman Bros. Midway has once again returned to the Fair.

Commerford’s Petting Zoo features many unique animals, as well as Swifty Swine Racing Pigs. The Dynamo Dogs are a new free show.

Our annual county fair showcases agriculture and entertainment, and once again is a highlight of our summer.
