TOWN OF MARTINSBURG — A Glenfield man was charged with driving under the influence of more than twice the legal limit of alcohol following a traffic stop on Whittaker Road early this morning.
Lewis County Sheriff’s deputies said Shaun P. Murray, 32, was seen traveling southbound in a pickup on Route 12, swerving over the fog line at 3:12 a.m. Deputies said they followed the truck onto Whittaker Road, where Murray was seen driving down the middle of the roadway.
The driver was taken into custody and brought to Lewis County Public Safety Building where he registered a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent, and it was discovered that he was driving under a suspended license for a previous conviction of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, deputies said.
Murray was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, unlicensed operator, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. He will appear in Town Court.
