Drugs seized as raid caps two-month investigation


NEW HARTFORD — A large quantity of different types of drugs was seized from a residence on Oneida Street Tuesday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said the drug raid was part of a 2-month investigation into the residence at 3854 Oneida St. in New Hartford.

Deputies said they seized quantities of LSD, prescription medications, marijuana, concentrated cannabis, THC vape cartridges, THC edibles and psilocybin mushrooms. Deputies said they also seized a large amount of cash that is believed to be from drug sales.

Due to the state’s new discovery laws, authorities said no charges have been filed so far. The evidence will be presented to a grand jury for a possible indictment to determine charges.

If an indictment is filed, arrests will be made at that time, the law enforcement officials

As I read this article, my take away is that law enforcement watched a residence for 2 months while the occupants sold drugs to the general public. Two months seems to be a long time to knowingly permit this activity to continue, while destroying peoples lives before taking action. Sad situation!
