Drivers suffer minor injuries in crash

YORKVILLE — Both drivers suffered minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash flipped a van onto its side on Oriskany Boulevard Thursday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

New York Mills Police said Noah Cross, of Lowville, was eastbound at about 10:52 a.m. when he attempted to make a left turn into the Taco Bell parking lot, cutting off an oncoming van. Police said the driver of the van, Michael Fountain, of Rome, attempted to avoid Cross’ Hyundai, but he was unsuccessful.

Police said the van hit the Hyundai, crashed through a street sign, hit the curb and became airborne, ultimately landing on its driver’s side in the roadway.

Police said both Cross and Fountain suffered minor injuries. Police said Cross was ticketed for failure to yield. He is scheduled to appear in Village Court.
