Driver had twice legal BAC limit, deputies say

TOWN OF LEWIS — A Lewis County man registered a blood alcohol content of nearly three times the legal limit following a motor vehicle accident Tuesday night, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said Robert T. Aldrich, 58, of West Leyden, was involved in an accident at the Hilltop Market on Route 26 at about 7 p.m.

Following the crash, the law enforcement authorities said Aldrich registered a BAC of 0.20% — more than twice the legal threshold of 0.08%.

Aldrich is charged with one count each of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, along with a traffic ticket, deputies stated.

He is scheduled to appear in Town Court to answer
the charges, the law enforcers added.
