Driver, 29, accused of drugged driving following crash


WESTMORELAND — A 29-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after his motor vehicle hit a rock wall at Deans Highway and West South Street Sunday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said Sewell A. Claycomb, of Westmoreland, was driving with passenger Chelsea E. Heitzmann, 27, of Whitestown, when their motor vehicle hit the rock wall at the intersection and overturned at about 11:06 a.m. Deputies said both driver and passenger suffered cuts and bruises and were treated at the scene.

Deputies said Claycomb was found with multiple controlled substances and he was determined to be driving under the influence. Deputies said Claycomb is charged with one count of driving while ability impaired by drugs, as well as several vehicle and traffic tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
