City Hall and Rome Main Streets Alliance are partnering up for the second season of the Downtown Market on the Griffo Green, 198 N. Washington St., beginning on June 5 and running every Wednesday through Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to an announcement to program officials.
“Whether you are looking for a fresh, made-to-order lunch, baked goods, produce, arts and craft creations or specialty items, it can all be found in this one location,” said a release from the city Department of Community and Economic Development.
This season, the day and time of the weekly event have changed, at the request of vendors and the approval of market management.
Although regular market hours are during the day, organizers say there will be extended hours on specified days throughout the season “to appeal to those who cannot attend during the day.”
“Other changes that will be reflected in the upcoming season include an increase in programming and advertising,” organizers added.
Vendor applications for the 2019 season are available now on the city website, romenewyork.com under the “Downtown Market” heading. Applicants should return forms no later than May 3.
Vendors or local performers who would like to be featured at the market should contact city Marketing Coordinator Makenzi Enos at email@example.com.
