Domestic dispute charged in Rome
ROME — A 33-year-old man has been charged with stopping a woman from leaving a domestic dispute in Rome late Friday night, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Rory D. Thatcher, of Rome, was in an argument and fight with a woman at a residence on Turin Street at about 11:50 p.m. Friday. When the woman tried to leave the apartment, police said Thatcher grabbed her in a bear hug and told her she was not leaving.
Thatcher is charged with one count each of second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree harassment, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
