Dodge Pratt Northam Art and Community Center features quality, affordable programs


BOONVILLE — The following are events and class currently slated for 2018 at Dodge Pratt Northam Art and Community Center, 106 Schuyler St.

Weekly classes 

Thursdays 10:15-11:15 a.m.: come Shake, Rattle and Rock, with Donna Muck’s Open to ages birth to 6 years.

Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-noon: Computer/tablet classes by appointment only.

Fridays, 11 a.m.-noon: Genealogy — class is designed to help you research and learn how to use to trace your family tree

Music lessons provided at the Pratt House include piano, accordion, guitar, and voice lessons.


“A Very Hungry Caterpillar Puppet Show”: Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. This is an after-school STEAM students’ performance.  After the performance, the students will serve the same type of refreshments that the caterpillar ate in the story. The STEAM students will participate in the “My Plate Program” to learn more about developing healthy eating habits. This event serves as a kick-off for the art center’s participation in  “New York State’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities” Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES initiative with the Oneida County Health Department.  

Nano Days Boonville: March 28, 3-5 p.m.  The Tweens & Teens PickUp STEAM and the Pratt RoCats with the help from MVCC Instructors, will host a community “Hands on Nano Projects” for all ages. 

“The Haunting of the Pratt House”: 4th annual mystery dinner theater: April 13 and 14, 6 p.m. at the Masons Lodge. Tickets are $25 and includes a turkey dinner with homemade pie and entertainment provided by Michael Scott Ferris, Rebecca Miner, the Adirondack Youth Choir, and others. 

Bus trip to Chicago: May 6-12. The cost of the tour is $590 and includes transportation, lodging, entrance fees, guided tours, and most meals. Reservations must be made by March 1.

The Summer Youth Art
Program art show: Aug. 1,
10 a.m.-noon.

Summer Musical Theater Presents: Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Boonville Elementary auditorium 

34th annual Woodmen’s Craft Fair: Aug. 17-19. Several new vendors will be joining the lineup of favorites from past shows. The Pratt House Café will be serving right off the grill.

42nd annual “Christmas in the Country”: Nov. 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Visitors can enjoy a Victorian stroll, delicious food, spirited music, and a variety of crafters.

  • April: Ginny’s Area Schools Juried Art Show, reception April 5, 6-8 p.m.
  • May: Joan Williamson and Bob Baungatner, reception May 3, 7-9 p.m.
  • June: “The Best of Boonville” Present the work of Val and Sandra DeVisser, reception June 7, 7-9 p.m.
  • July:  Stephen J. Fletcher, reception July 12, 7-9 p.m.
  • September: Sally Tagliere, reception Sept. 6, 7-9 p.m.
  • October: “Boonville Fall Festival” Show, reception Oct. 4, 7-9 p.m.
