Deputies say speed led to rollover crash in Marshall

TOWN OF MARSHALL — A 23-year-old man was hospitalized and ticketed after law enforcement officials said unsafe speeds led to a rollover crash Thursday evening.

Sheriff’s deputies said Ian Schaaf, of Waterville, was westbound on Sally Road at about 7:30 p.m., traveling at unreasonable speeds in his 2018 BMW.

Deputies said Schaaf lost control of the car and went off the north shoulder, where the BMW hit a ditch and rolled over several times.

Schaaf suffered non-life threatening injuries and he was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, authorities said.

He was also ticketed for unreasonable speed and is scheduled to appear in Town Court, deputies stated.
