TOWN OF NEW BREMEN — A Lewis County man was shot with a Taser and is facing multiple felonies after law enforcement officials said he threatened several people with a pair of kitchen knives.
Deputies said Allen T. Bray, 51, of 569 County Route 194, was in a fight with a family member at the residence at about 1:26 p.m. Saturday. When the first deputies arrived on the scene, authorities said Bray went into the residence and emerged with two large kitchen knives.
Deputies said Bray began to approach the officers and other family members with the knives and refused to drop them. A deputy eventually fired a Taser at Bray and he was subdued and taken into custody, authorities stated.
Bray is charged with one count each of first-degree burglary and third-degree mischief, two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, all felonies, one count of menacing a police officer and four additional misdemeanors, deputies said. He was arraigned in Town Court and was sent to county jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court.
