Deputies: Girl, 6, injured after getting bumped by pickup

TOWN OF TRENTON — A 6-year-old girl was hospitalized after getting bumped by a pickup truck on Route 12 in Trenton Sunday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Sheriff’s deputies said a 6-year-old girl was attempting to get into a GMC pickup truck in the parking lot of Cindy’s Diner on Route 12 at about 11 a.m. Sunday. Deputies said the driver, 60-year-old Daniel Millick, of Remsen, was not aware that the girl was not yet seated in the vehicle and he began to back out of the space slowly. Deputies said the truck bumped into the girl at a slow speed and knocked her to the ground. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.

A passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Kenneth Millick, of Remsen, suffered an injury while rushing out of the vehicle after the girl had been hit, authorities said. He was also taken to St. Elizabeth for treatment.
