TOWN OF FORESTPORT — A total of 24 people were found trespassing on the train trestle bridge over Kayuta Lake Thursday night, according to law enforcement officials.
Sheriff Robert M. Maciol warned this week of large parties on privately owned lands and the dangers he said they represent. At about 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Maciol said the Sheriff’s Office was tipped off about a gathering of people on the train trestle bridge off Trestle Road in Forestport.
Deputies and state Forest Rangers responded and said they found 24 people in the area, in violation of the “No Trespassing” signs. Authorities said the land is owned by the State of New York.
Deputies said trespass charges will be filed on a later date.
