TOWN OF LEE — A Delta Central program, offering a site where parents can bring children currently in remote education to do their schoolwork during the day and have adults oversee them, is being offered at Delta Lake Bible Conference Center, 6420 Pillmore Drive.
The program is available on school days from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and the cost is $125 per week or $25 per day. Parents can register their school-age children at https://deltalake.campbrainregistration.com
The Rome school district is beginning the 2020-21 academic year on an all-remote basis for general education for at least six weeks, due to COVID-19 factors.
Delta Lake Bible Conference Center Executive Director Steve Clark said “as school begins online, we want to help Rome-area families that may be struggling with what to do with their kids during the day. We have room to host at least 40 kids and be socially distant, in a clean environment with strong WiFi, where they can do their school work and have adults to oversee them.”
An announcement for the program also noted “we have a clean and socially distant classroom space to help support your child’s e-learning. We will have temperature and screening checks each morning.”
Space is limited and the program is first-come, first-serve, said the announcement.
