Decorate Your School Supplies event planned at Jervis Public Library
ROME — To mark the start of a new school year, Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will offer Decorate Your School Supplies program for children and teens on Friday, Sept. 9. The program will run from 4-5 pm., and attendees are welcome to attend the entire program or drop in at any time during the hour.
Participants may bring their school supplies to the children’s room to decorate their notebooks, folders and binders with stickers, magazine pictures, markers, and other decorations. Need something to decorate? There will be a small supply of folders and notebooks for those who need them available at the event.

- Tuesday, Sept. 6, free children’s Craft Kits available
- Wednesday, Sept. 7, 10:30 a.m., Story Time with Ms. Emily (children’s program); 5:30 p.m., First Day of School Celebration (children’s program); 6 p.m., adult program: Pressed Flower Workshop (registration required)
- Thursday, Sept. 8, noon, Mid-Day Mystery Book Discussion — “The Case of the Missing Marquess” by Nancy Springer; 6 p.m., Jervis House Tour
The library is open 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
