Nominations for the YWCA Mohawk Valley’s annual Salute to Outstanding Women awards are due Tuesday. Nominations may be made at ywcamv.org/Salute.
Nominees must be 18 or older, live or work in Oneida or Herkimer counties, and must have demonstrated excellence and leadership in the workplace or community.
Youth nominees must be 17 or younger and live, work or attend school in either county.
Nominees may not be past honorees, current YWCA MV board members or current staff, the announcement added.
One woman will be honored in each of nine categories: Business and industry, education, entrepreneur, health care, human and public service, social justice, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), outstanding youth, and unsung heroine.
Honorees will be recognized during the Salute to Outstanding Women Luncheon May 9.
Now numbering 248 members, the Salute Academy has served as a testament to YWCA MV’s mission since the first Salute ceremony in 1989.
