David B. Koscielniak, 62, of Estero, FL, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021. David was born in New Hartford, NY, on June 28, 1959. On July 20, 1985, he was united in marriage to Lisa Barber of Rome, NY.
David retired in 2017 after 35 years with the New York State Department of Corrections.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his daughter, Nicole and son-in-law, James Sigg; and his son, Ryan Koscielniak. David loved and cherished his 2 granddaughters, Reagan and Kennedy Sigg. He is also survived by his mother, Lois Koscielniak; brothers, Frank, Bruce and Rodney; and his sister, Linda and her husband, Curt Pietryka; father-in-law, Thomas Barber; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Dana Barber, and Michael and Lorrie Manuele; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his best friend, Mike Crist. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Koscielniak; and his mother-in-law, MaryAnn Barber.
Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
The family will hold a private memorial service in his memory and honor.
