OLD FORGE — Direct from Rochester, enjoy the music of Hanna & The Blue Hearts from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at View, the Center for Arts and Culture in Old Forge.

The theatre will be set up cabaret style where tables and chairs will be placed in Gould Hall in a way that will create a dance floor and a cash bar. Light hors d’oeuvres also will be served.

Pianist and singer Hanna PK has been making a splash in and around Rochester. She’s never attended a music school, but her classroom has been multiple juke joints. There, she’s been studying and playing with some of the best blues musicians in town including the John Cole Blues Band, Joe Beard, Big Mike and the Motivators and Genesee Johnny to name a few. The way she locks down the groove, from her hands on the keys to her tapping toe, instantly moves you.

She formed Hanna and the Blue Hearts in the summer of 2015. Hanna and the Blue Hearts use the blues as one of the main ingredients, but their sound is also unique and refreshing. They spark regardless of whether they’re playing Hanna’s original songs or their deep repertoire of cover songs. Hanna and the Blue Hearts blend everything they love —from blues, jazz, R&B, to soul — almost making their own genre with no gimmicks, but with an honesty and passion, simply by playing their instruments along with Hanna’s lilting voice.
