Dance classes to start at Rome YMCA
ROME — Boys and girls ages 7-10 may discover and explore their “inner dancer” through Rome YMCA’s winter ballet and jazz classes beginning Monday, Dec. 19.
Dance instructor Abigail Morgan will run the program. Morgan is a dancer and performer from Rome. She attends Nazareth College in Rochester, where she is pursuing her bachelor’s of fine arts degree in musical theatre, with a minor in dance. She began her training at age 3 with Rome’s John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance.
Morgan has performed locally and in the world-renowned Rochester Fringe Festival, and teaches dance in Rome and Rochester.
Classes will be held for six weeks: Dec. 19, 22, 26, and 29, and Jan. 12 and 17 from 6:15-7:15 p.m. Register on the YMCA website, www.ymcatrivalley.org, or in person at the Rome YMCA, 301 W. Bloomfield St. Cost is $60, $40 for YMCA members. For more information, call the Rome YMCA at 315-336-3500. YMCA welcomes everyone who wishes to participate, regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance is available through the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley’s Changing Lives Financial Assistance program.
The program provides assistance to youths, adults and families based on individual needs and circumstances.
