Dance classes to start at Rome YMCA

ROME — Boys and girls ages 7-10 may discover and explore their “inner dancer” through Rome YMCA’s winter ballet and jazz classes beginning Monday, Dec. 19.

Dance instructor Abigail Morgan will run the program. Morgan is a dancer and performer from Rome. She attends Nazareth College in Rochester, where she is pursuing her bachelor’s of fine arts degree in musical theatre, with a minor in dance. She began her training at age 3 with Rome’s John Hayes O’Neill Studio of Dance.

Morgan has performed locally and in the world-renowned Rochester Fringe Festival, and teaches dance in Rome and Rochester.

Classes will be held for six weeks: Dec. 19, 22, 26, and 29, and Jan. 12 and 17 from 6:15-7:15 p.m. Register on the YMCA website, www.ymcatrivalley.org, or in person at the Rome YMCA, 301 W. YMCA welcomes everyone who wishes to participate, regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance is available through the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Valley’s Changing Lives Financial Assistance program.

The program provides assistance to youths, adults and families based on individual needs and circumstances.
