Wes and Lauren Cupp of Rome are headed to South Korea on Wednesday for an international speedgolf event.
The husband and wife have been invited to represent the United States in the W. Angle World Xtreme Golf Challenge.
The tournament will take place April 19-22 at the Maple Beach Golf Resort in Ganwon-do, a seaside town on the Sea of Japan/East Sea.
The co-ed alternate shot format will have a Korean bracket and an International bracket. The top four two-person teams were selected last weekend in South Korea for their domestic side of the event. The United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan will join the U.S. contingent of Wes and Lauren Cupp for the international bracket.
Both sides will compete in a single-elimination tournament with the champions meeting for the overall title. The champions of the event will earn 20 million Korean won — approximately $17,500 USD.
The event will be filmed and aired in a weekly series in Korea from May through July. It will later be available in the U.S. on YouTube.
