Crockett third in shot put at Federation Meet


MIDDLETOWN — Rome Free Academy senior track and field standout Sarah Crockett placed third in the shot put and sixth in the discus throw during the Federation Meet on Saturday at Middletown High School.

Crockett, who won her second straight state title in the shot put on Friday, threw 42 feet, 9 inches in the shot put during the Federation event.

She heaved the discus 122-2.

Other results of area athletes in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association meet on Saturday:

• Westmoreland’s Jason Robinson took first place in the 1,600 wheelchair event with a time of 3:41.78 after winning the 800 and 3,200 events on Friday. He was the lone participant in all three events.

• Camden’s Elizabeth Lucason and Hannah Ielfield of South Lewis placed seventh and 10th, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run.

Lucason had a time of 4 minutes and 36.35 seconds, while Ielfield had a time of 4:42.60.

• Camden’s Josh Mayden finished 18th in the pentathlon with 2,912 points.

• Delaney Brewer of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill placed 21st with a time of 7:17.93 in the steeplechase.

• Clinton’s Finley Davignon placed 16th in the pentathlon with 2,224 points.

Teammate Louis Pinto did not place in the high jump.
