OLD FORGE — Are you someone in need of a new creative yet functional crafting project. Are you looking to try something new alongside fellow beginners? Join View, the center for arts and culture, and renowned fiber artist Mallory Zondag for a fiber arts workshop, focused around creating a functional and unique felted basket on Sept. 15, 22, 29 from 10 to noon.
The Felted Basket Series is ideal for anyone who is new to felting, and wants to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. This three-part workshop will demonstrate the process and techniques of creating three-dimensional felt vessels that can be both decorative and functional.
Students will design and create a one of kind felted basket, as well as a brand-new appreciation for fiber arts. Mallory will lead this workshop from her studio through Zoom, giving a step-by-step demonstration, while participants will be creating their own baskets at View with on-site guidance from Workshop Manager,ErinGrabosky.
The cost for this workshop is $125, $110 for members. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Register online at View Arts.org/workshops. All current COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.
Mallory Zondag is a Mixed Media Fiber artist. She graduated from Pratt Institute with honors, a BFA in Fashion Design and a minor in Art History. Mallory has exhibited in galleries, participated in artist festivals, residencies and collective shows in New York and Pennsylvania. Currently located in Upstate New York.
