COVID-19 cases continue to rise in region

In Monday COVID-19 daily data releases, infection numbers were shown to continue to rise.

There were 33 COVID-19-related deaths across the state on Sunday and Monday’s seven-day statewide average infection positivity rate was measured at 3.82%. 

In Oneida County, there were 422 new positive cases of the virus and seven new virus-related deaths between Friday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 21, according to county data released Monday. As of Monday evening, the infection positivity rate in Oneida County was measured at 6.5%.

Also, as of Monday evening, there were 59 Oneida County residents hospitalized, of those, 40 were unvaccinated patients and 19 were vaccinated. In a further breakdown, 45 patients were at Mohawk Valley Health System, seven were at Rome Health and seven were hospitalized outside of the county.
