The League of Women Voters of the Utica-Rome Metropolitan Area and the Observer-Dispatch are sponsoring a debate between the Oneida County executive candidates from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Utica Maennerchor Hall, 5535 Flanagan Road, Marcy.
The candidates are Democrat Michael Hennessy, a former Oneida County legislator from Sherrill, and three-term Republican incumbent Anthony J.
The debate will begin with a moderator-directed session in which the candidates will be questioned by panelists chosen by the event sponsors, followed by a 20-minute fast-paced question and answer session with questions submitted to the moderator by the audience.
The debate is free and open to the public, according to an announcement by event organizers.
The Maennerchor Hall seats approximately 250 and is wheelchair accessible.
Election Day is Nov 5.
A debate in Rome was previously announced. It is at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Delta Lake Inn, sponsored by the Rome Area Chamber of Commerce and the Professional and Business Women of Rome, a chapter of New York State Women Inc., and requires an admission fee.
