Oneida County COVID positivity rate at 6.8%


On Monday, there were 172 new positive cases and no new COVID-19-related deaths in Oneida County. Further, the positivity rate on Tuesday was measured at 6.8%, according to county data.

Also on Monday, there were 66 Oneida County residents hospitalized. Of those, 45 are unvaccinated and 21 are vaccinated. Further, 52 were at Mohawk Valley Health System, seven were at Rome Health and seven were hospitalized out of the county.

There were 27 COVID-19-related deaths across New York on Monday and Tuesday’s statewide seven-day average positivity rate was measured at 3.81%,
according to information from Gov. Kathy Hochul’s office.

On Monday, Gov. Kathy Hochul also announced nine new #VaxtoSchool pop-up vaccination sites to increase vaccination rates among school-aged New Yorkers. 

To date, 198 pop-up vaccination sites have been launched across the state.

“As the Thanksgiving holiday nears, Governor Hochul and the State’s Department of Health urge all eligible New Yorkers, including and especially young New Yorkers, to get fully vaccinated as soon as possible,” a statement reads.
