Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle perform April 30

UTICA — Oneida County History Center, 608 Genesee St., will host musicians Cosby Gibson and Tom Staudle, who will sing songs of the labor unions at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

Labor unions in the late 1800s and early 1900s were powerful in solidarity and activism, and even included songs to motivate and give hope. The program presents a variety of songs and historical narratives about the development and progress of the Labor Movement. Gibson and Staudle are award-winning songwriters and singers who live near the Adirondacks. Together they play originals and favorites with various instruments such as guitar, fiddle, banjo and harmonica.
