Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County is seeking new master gardener volunteers and invites prospective volunteers to a monthly business meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at CCE’s office at the Oneida County Farm & Home Center, 121 Second St. in Oriskany.

The event consists of the program’s business meeting and educational piece, followed by an opportunity afterward to talk with current master gardeners. Master gardener volunteers design, maintain and incorporate their gardens as a community teaching tool based on research from Cornell University.

Their main program focus is their educational display gardens at CCE’s office. Master gardener volunteers also bring garden information to the public through special events and speaking engagements.

Prospective volunteers are asked to RSVP by calling 315-736-3394 and entering extension 169 for Terri or 125 for Holly. Information is at www.cceoneida.com.
