ROME — Copper City Community Connection, 305 E. Locust St., recognized its next group of members to achieve the President’s Active Lifestyle Award, with support from the Slocum-Dickson Foundation, Inc.
All members worked over an 8-week period to achieve the healthy eating and physical activity goals established by the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. The awardees achieved 150 minutes of physical activity each week, along with meeting the healthy eating goals by eating 6 of the 9 components of the healthy eating pattern or limiting added sugars, saturated fats or reducing sodium intake.
CCCC has started another 8-week program ending June 10. Call the center at 315-337-8230 to inquire about PALA and other events and programs at Copper City Community Connection.
Copper City Community Connection is a community-based organization working to connect older adults, seniors, and the elderly to a healthy independent lifestyle through social, artistic, educational, and physical programs supporting independence and life within community.
