A Rome man is accused of stealing several guns from a building he was working on as a contractor, according to law enforcement officials.
State police said Christopher A. Longto, 31, was hired as a contractor to work on a building in Rome.
On Wednesday, troopers said Longto stole five handguns, a shotgun and a rifle from the building.
Longto is charged with seven counts each of second and third-degree possession of a weapon, as well as one count each of second-degree burglary and criminal possession of a firearm, all felonies, troopers said.
He was arraigned in court and was sent to county jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court.
