Continentals up to 12th in women’s lax poll

The Hamilton College Continentals moved up a spot to 12th in this week’s ILWomen/Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll that was released on Monday.

Hamilton is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Continentals posted a 19-8 non-conference win at Dickinson College on March 22 and lost a close one, 10-9, on a last-second goal by then-nationally ranked No. 9 Colby College in conference play on the road two days later.

Hamilton has another conference game at No. 11 Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 2 at noon. Senior Eva Abel leads the Continentals with 12 goals and senior Olivia Seymour has a team-high eight assists and 19 points. Sophomore Meghan Lane paces the team with 30 draw controls, 15 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Hamilton’s four goalkeepers have combined for a 6.83 goals against average and .544 save percentage.
