NEW HARTFORD — Caroline Reale, Oneida County Legislator in the 15th Legislative District of New Hartford, has announced her support for Sarah Klee Hood, a Democrat seeking office in New York’s 22nd Congressional District.

“I am excited to announce that I will be supporting Sarah Klee Hood in the upcoming Democratic primary for New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Sarah is a working mother, veteran, and town councilor in DeWitt,” Reale said. “As a born and raised central New Yorker Sarah understands the problems we face and will fight for all of us if elected to Congress.”

“Upon meeting Sarah she assured me her top priorities will include: ensuring that a woman’s right to choose is protected, making sure quality healthcare is available for everyone regardless of job, income, or zip code, and fighting to protect our democracy from all threats foreign and domestic,” Reale added.

The newly-drawn 22nd Congressional District comprises all of Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga counties as well as a small portion of Oswego county.

“This district is expected to be one of the most important and competitive seats in the entire nation this November, which is another reason why I will be supporting Sarah,” Reale added. “Despite running in such a geographically large district Sarah has made sure that she listens to voters and residents from across the district. Sarah has made clear that if elected she will be a voice for all Central New Yorkers.”

“During the campaign she has committed to visiting and speaking to voters in every corner of the district, and has made clear she is committed to ensuring that Utica, New Hartford, and all of Oneida County will have strong representation in Congress that will work with local government to help our constituents,” Reale said.

Primary Day will be on Tuesday, Aug. 23. Early voting runs from Saturday, Aug. 13, through Sunday, Aug. 21. Information on early voting sites and hours are available on various county board of elections websites.
