CCNY Tech has partnered with several local libraries and other locations in Oneida and Herkimer counties to host drop off sites for old and broken cell phones.

Old cell phones contain precious metals and other high tech computer parts that can be recycled into new machines. CCNY Tech will be collecting old and broken cell phones through June 22 as part of an Earth Day initiative.

The phones can be dropped off at libraries in Ilion, New Hartford, New York Mills, Utica, Westmoreland and Whitesboro, as well as Notre Dame High School in Utica, the M&T Bank in New Hartford, the Good News Center in Utica and Zeina’s Cafe in Utica.
