ROME — Upstate Family Health Center, Inc. and Rome Family YMCA, 301 W. Bloomfield St., will host “Building Bridges,” a Community Partner Provider Fair on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Rome Y.

The event, to be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will give community service providers the opportunity to network and establish partnerships. The event will be open to the public for free from 2-4 p.m.

The networking fair’s focus is to build bridges between local service providers by highlighting the work they are doing to support the community.  All service organizations and agencies such as mental, physical and emotional health providers, education, wellness, and financial institutions are invited to participate.

Some of the participants registered thus far include Central New York Home Health Network, Helio Health, Jervis Public Library, Mohawk Valley Community Action and OnPoint for College, according to event organizer Torie Hairston, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and director of behavioral health services for Upstate Family Health Center, Inc.

The first 30 participants registered will be included in a collaborative Power-Point presentation. Registration deadline is Monday, Sept. 12.

“This event allows providers to meet face-to-face and discover how they can support each other and the community,” said Hairston. “I want to take this opportunity to thank our major sponsors Exagen, LabCorp and MVP Health Care and NBT Bank as well as groups and businesses supporting this event.”

She said, “The last two hours of the event are free and open to the public and a perfect opportunity for anyone to learn about community resources – all in one place. We are encouraging the pubic to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Rome Rescue Mission.”

The day will include promotional giveaways and business card raffles.
